We suggest a minimum of 2-5 liters, depending on your tanks size. Having enough water ensures proper dissolution and dispersion of the contents of the sachet. Water is also provides the habitat needed for the our probiotic mix to propagate; more water more space.

No, our sachets are measured for a single dose and should not be open.

This is greatly dependent on your tank size and usage. We generally expect up to 7 days coverage with 80 liters waste tanks.

There are two main reasons we choose to use bacteria and enzymes in our product.

1. By breaking down waste into smaller pieces, even if the tank is only used for one or two days, and the waste is only partially broken down, we still are able to greatly reduce the quantity of bicocides, surfacants ,and fragrance needed to maintain a odor free tank.

For example, even in the worst case scenario for bacteria and enzymes: it’s winter and you have a small tank and change it too regularly to see the full effect of the probiotic mix you’ll still get a  partial benefit, more so than if we didn’t include them, by having some of your waste broken down. This results in less area for other odor causing bacteria to grow and thrive in.

But, if you have a large tank, or it’s summer, or even if you just use your tank every now and then over the course of 3-7 days. Then the efficiency and advantages of bacteria and enzymes begin to scale up very quickly as they multiply and propagate within your tank system, while the efficiency of the biocides and fragrance scales down. This gives our product a much longer span where it remains efficient at combating odor; especially in summer.

2. Our mix of bacteria and Enzymes do an especially good job of keeping your tank walls, sensors, probes clean and prevent build up.

No, the laws are that you must dump black water waste at required dumping stations.

While Black Magic RV is biodegradable, and uses non toxic dyes and perfumes. It does in it’s concentrated form contains a low amount of bronopol 5-10% which is a biocide. We use bronopol to sanitize the waste tank, helping neutralizing competing bacteria so that ours can thrive.

However the important part is that once our sachet is diluted in your waste tank, and especially when dumped, there will be a negligible, and non-toxic amount of bronopol remaining.

While we are working towards solutions to remove biocides from our black water products completely, at this time, we feel that this solution strikes one of the best balances between an ecological product that doesn’t cause damage down stream, and a efficient solution that also works.

Black Magic RV is a all in one solution that works in careful balance. Adding additional chemicals can disrupt that balance and cause a die off of our probiotic mix. For this reason we suggest not adding other products to your waste tank.

If stored correctly our products have a shelf life of one year. For best longevity keep these tips in mind. 

1. The film used in our sachets is especially sensitive to moisture. for this reason the product should be kept with the ziploc tightly closed.
2. Store out of direct sunlight, in a cool dry place whenever possible.
3. Use dry hands when taking a sachet out of the pouch to avoid moisture contact with the other sachets.
